Paresh Dhanani to set public grievance redressal system parallel to that of govt

Leader of the Opposition party (LOP) in Gujarat Assembly Paresh Dhanani is going to set up a public grievance redressal system soon. The system will work on online and offline platforms. People who have grievances against any government machinery can register their complaint online or in person at Dhanani's office and the LOP will forward the same in the concerned department and raise the same on different platform.

Sources in the Congress said, "Dhanani is a young leader and is full of innovative ideas. He has chosen to make a platform on which people can register their complaint online through social media or in person. He has also prepared a brigade of young workers of the Congress at the city, town, district and tehsil levels who will receive complaints from people and will forward it to the LOP's office."

"This system is parallel to CM's Swagat Online project initiated by former CM Narendra Modi that will work at the state level. Whereas the down the line, there will be a platform that will work on the line of incumbent CM Vijay Rupani's model of Seva Setu. Dhanani's intention behind initiating this exercise to make government responsible on people's issue," added the sources.

However, Dhanani denied to divulge information on his initiative, he said that he will consider in case such suggestion came across to him.

The leader of Opposition has also decided to assign responsiblity of different departments of state government to the Congress MLAs and they will have to take care of the affairs related to that department. There are 27 departments in the Gujarat government and above 51 boards and corporations and the MLAs will have to report to LOP on the ongoing affairs of the same.

"There is a plan that parallel to state government's cabinet meeting, Dhanani also will held a weekly meeting with the MLAs who have been assigned responsibility of departments. They will compile a report of different issue and then will forward the same to Gujarat Congress president for his perusal," the sources in party further added.

A senior leader of the Congress said, "I know that Dhanani is going to establish this system. He is also of the view that the worker at the city, town or district level performs better in the public grievance redressal system, will get the rewards and will get good position in party organisation. This is a strategic move by Dhanani that will bring our party workers close to common people and people's faith in Congress will increase with the same."
