Two cars collided on the Dhandhuka-Bagodara Highway on Thursday, killing one and injuring five others.

The incident took place at around 4.30 pm near Fedara village on Dhandhuka-Bagodara Highway. Police said, the accident took place when both cars speeded towards each others from opposite direction. Being a single lane road, the two vehicles collided, and one was thrown off the road.

A 2-year-old child died in the accident. Those injured included two men and three women. One of the cars belonged to Mahipasinh Chudasma, who is the police sub inspector of Jamnagar, who also sustained injuries in the incident.

All the injured were rushed to the hospital.

Dhandhuka police reached the spot immediately after being informed. A case has been lodged and further investigation is on.

ANOTHER MISHAP

  • Another accident took place at Riverfront Road near Dafnala area of Shahibaug at around 11.30am on Thursday. Six cars rammed into each other, creating a traffic snarl for half an hour. No causality was reported in the incident.
