Officials in the state education department said the summit would be an effort to inform youngsters about the quality of education abroad and also to raise the quality at home by brainstorming, plugging loopholes and charting out a future course.

Nearly 100 vice chancellors of universities from outside the state and experts will gather at Mahatma Mandir. And, since the Gujarat government has chosen Italy as partner of the summit, experts from Italian varsities are also expected to take part.

The event will focus on thematic deliberations, providing platform to academics and young to share knowledge, sharing best practices and innovations and building a roadmap for excellence in education. At the technical sessions, universities of the state would present points of view on subjects like sectoral university, innovative management education and engineering education to transform India to mention a few.
