Chief Minister Narendra Modi will travel around 625 km during the Swami Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra which began from Becharaji on Tuesday.
Modi will set off on the second leg of the Yatra on Thursday from Unai village in Navsari district and travel to Valsad district in south Gujarat. The second leg will cover three districts — Navsari, Valsad and Surat — and will end on Saturday.
For the third leg, Modi will start from Ambaji in Banaskantha district on Monday when BJP’s national president Nitin Gadkari is expected to arrive in Gujarat.
Giving details of the Yatra, BJP spokespersons IK Jadeja and Mansukh Mandavia said that national president of BJP’s Schedule Caste cell Faggansinh Fulaste, Odisha BJP president Jual Oram and top BJP leaders of different states will join Modi on the second leg of the Yatra. Public meetings will be held at different places in this phase.
On Friday morning, Modi will start from Valsad and reach Kamrej in Surat while, on Saturday, he will start from Karjan in Vadodara district and cover various villages and talukas up to Khambhat.
After a brief rest on Sunday, the Yatra will go to north Gujarat where a rally will be taken out from Ambaji (Danta), a pilgrimage of the Goddess. It will reach Vijapur in Mehsana district late on Sunday evening. The spokespersons further said that Modi will travel around 625 kilometers during the Yatra.
Modi has started the Yatra with an eye on the assembly polls and is aimed at mobilizing youths of the state to vote for the BJP.
The chief minister began the Yatra on Tuesday from Becharaji in Mehsana districe where he lashed out at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre. He called the Congress a ‘cancer’ and appealed to people to get rid of it.
