LRD paper leak case: Six more arrested, cops hunt for 10 others

As per police officials, so far 28 accused have been arrested by the Gandhinagar police

Gandhinagar police arrested six more accused involved in LRD paper leak case from Sabarkantha and Banaskantha area of Gujarat. The investigation revealed that all six accused were among the 26 students who went to Delhi to avail the exam paper.

As per police officials, so far 28 accused have been arrested by the Gandhinagar police, but the cops are still on a lookout for 10 other accused including main conspirators, Delhi gang members and some students.

Mayur Chavda, SP Gandhinagar, said, "In the past two days, we have arrested six accused related to the case, all of them are those students who had gone to Delhi to see the paper. We have brought them to Gandhinagar office and further investigation is on. The main conspirators behind the entire plan are still on run and we yet to nab them. "

The LRD recruitment exam for December 2, 2018, was cancelled after the officials were informed about the paper leak. The exam date was then postponed to January 6.

It was revealed during the earlier investigation that Vinay Arora wa to print the leaked paper at the Manipal Printing Press located in Karnataka. The question paper was stolen from the press by two accused assigned by Arora on November 20, 2018, for which both were paid by him. Later, Arora sold the paper to Virendra Mathur for Rs 50 lakh. Later three accused made the arrangements for 28 students from Gujarat to travel to Delhi to see the paper.
