Loot alleged on Ashram road, Ahmedabad

Two men on a bike allegedly snatched a bag containing Rs5 lakh in cash from two employees of a private firm. The loot was conducted in broad daylight on Ashram road.

Anil Nayariya, 38, a resident of Madhavpura, works as a store keeper with Mahavir Enterprise in Santej. He, along with another employee, Raju first went to Ashram road to withdraw cash from the company’s account in HDFC Bank and parked their Eterno scooter near HDFC Bank.

After withdrawing Rs5 lakh from HDFC Bank, Nayariya put the money inside a strap bag and hung it across his shoulder before starting his scooter. While heading towards IDBI Bank in Ambawadi, where their company has another account, two men came on a bike and snatched the bag from Nayariya and vanished.

According to Nayariya, the incident happened just minutes after they had left the HDFC Bank’s parking lot.

Based on his complaint, Navrangpura police have registered a case of loot and started their investigation. However, cops are still suspicious about the claims of Nayariya, as the bag was kept between him and Raju while riding their scooter.

Cops have said that they haven’t found any eye witness to the crime. They have also checked CCTV footage of bank as well as of Sales India and found nothing.
