Like Navratri, Mahila police to patrol city streets during Diwali
Mahila police were deployed in the city area and more than 40 people were nabbed for harassing and eve teasing women
For the safety and security of women during Diwali, the city police department is going to deploy decoy teams of Mahila police in city areas to nab the accused harassing women.
During the nine nights of Navratri, 10 decoy teams of Mahila police were deployed in the city area and more than 40 people were nabbed for harassing and eve teasing women. In the same way, teams will be deployed in the areas where usually coward gathering happens during Diwali and police will put a close watch on such people.
The areas will Shopping malls, food court areas, markets etc will have the deployment of police. where the women cops will be dressed in civvies and they will be nabbing the accused who are seen eve-teasing and harassing women during the festival. The cops will have back up of male cops who will be watching them from a secure distance when the decoy team is doing the operation.
JK Bhatt, JCP Crime branch, said, "We have made the team to make sure our women can be safe and secure during the festival and enjoy it without any issue. In the similar way, decoy teams will be deployed in Diwali."
