Teachers of a private school in Ahmedabad have donated a day's salary to support the schools in Kerala. Teachers of Udgam School and Zebar school donated their one day's salary, which is nearly Rs 6.5 lakhs, to rehabilitate the education system in the state. The money will be used to buy school uniforms, books and stationeries.

The amount will go to the organization that runs a campaign, 'Back to School'. "We wanted to reach out to them and help in any possible manner. Hence, we formed a group of teachers to identify how best we can help them. After studying on ground situation, we thought to focus on rehabilitation of the education system at the affected areas. If needed, we might extend this initiative with parents also at a later stage," said Manan Choksi, Executive director, Udgam School for Children.
