AHMEDABAD
Jagruti Pandya, wife of slain BJP minister Haren Pandya, is checking all the legal aspects to seek re-investigation of her husband’s murder case. She wants fresh probe following her meeting with Asgar Ali, who was acquitted in the Pandya murder case, at a jail in Visakhapatnam.
On Thursday, Jagruti told reporters that she doubted the investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as there was a political intervention. Without taking any name, she said the BJP government at the Centre in 2003 as well as in Gujarat had been responsible for misusing CBI to divert the Pandya case.
Jagruti also said that throughout the investigation, the CBI did not bother to access the Call Data Records (CDRs) of her husband’s cell phone. “Even a small theft is being investigated with the help of CDRs and the CBI had not bothered to investigate in this direction,” she said. According to the charge sheet of the murder case, the CBI sleuths had misplaced the CDRs of the slain minister.
Jagruti met Ali for two hours on Tuesday and got the information that someone else connected with the encounter deaths in the city was behind Pandya’s murder. However, she refused to divulge other details in this connection.
