State Women's Commission (SWC) of Gujarat president, Lila Ankoliya, visited the Ahmedabad rape victim on Sunday. Ankoliya assured her all help she needed. Ankoliya made the representation before the state government to take necessary actions.
"I condemn the treatment she got during the investigation and have expressed my concerns before the competent authority to take the actions after the girl made some more revelation. I suggested to let the girl mingle with her friends and resume her routine course so that she could come out of that traumatic situation that she would have faced after the incident," Ankoliya said.
"I had sought report of the incident on the very first day it was reported in local media after the girl approached police. It was the suo-motu action that I took as the powers are vested in me from state government," she said.
