Gujarat: Women files harassment case against husband, in-laws
As per the complaint, the victim alleged that her husband also had an extramarital affair while they were living in London.
A case was lodged with the Naroda police station by a 37-year-old woman against her husband and in-law for mentally and physically harassing her. As per the complaint, the victim alleged that her husband also had an extramarital affair while they were living in London.
The complaint was lodged by Shilpa Patel, a resident of Chandlodiya and mother of two. She stated in her complaint that she got married to Jayesh kumar Patel, a resident of Kubernagar in the year 2000 and starting living with her in-laws.
As per allegations, initially everything was good, but after giving birth to a girl child, the behaviour of her husband and in-laws changed. Her in-laws started harassing and taunting her for giving birth to a girl.
In October 2009, the couple moved to London along with their kids, where Jayesh got into an extra marital affair. When Shilpa told him to leave the other woman, the man got angry and started torturing her. Even Shilpa's in-laws started supporting him and told her to adjust.
On July 20, the couple returned to Ahmedabad, but the scenario remained the same, and later, she lodged a complaint with the Naroda police station against her husband Jayesh and in-laws Maniben Patel and Mathurdas Patel.Police have lodged the case under IPC Sections 114, 498(c) and 323.
HB Vaghela, Inspector of Naroda police station, said, "We have registered the complaint and have started the investigation. Till now no accused has been arrested in the matter."
