Patel said there is an uninterrupted power supply in the state, which empowers rural women and benefits cotton growing farmers. The government will increase the spinning capacity by adding 25 lakh spindles in the next five years.

Patel said, “State is taking measures to ensure that cotton growing farmers need not sell their produce out of Gujarat. The state is growing 35% of the country’s cotton and the farmers should be getting good prices for the same. The state has allocated Rs70 crore under the implementation of ‘cotton spinning policy’ and the state’s share of 7% in spinning will go up to 15% by adding 25L spindles in the next five years.”
