Swine flu death toll in the state rose to 75 on Wednesday, with three patients succumbing to the H1N1 virus.

The health department said that 110 new swine flu cases were reported in the state on Wednesday. This is the highest number of the flu cases that have come to light in the state in a single day this year. The number of confirmed swine flu cases in the state since January 1 touched 2,185 with these cases.

Health department data showed that 29 cases were reported in Ahmedabad city, and 24 in Vadodara city. Nine cases were confirmed in Kutch, and six each in Sabarkantha and Rajkot city.

Four cases came to light in Surat city, and three each in Gandhinagar city, Amreli, and Vadodara rural.

Bhavnagar city, Aravalli, Junagadh, Gandhinagar, Chhota Udepur, Jamnagar, Kheda, Dwarka and Mahisagar reported two cases, whereas Surat rural, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Jamnagar city, and Junagadh city reported one-one case.

The health department said that 692 patients are undergoing treatment, whereas 1,418 patients have recovered.
