In yet another collaboration with an international institution, Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the William & Mary Law School, Virginia, one of the oldest law school of USA.

The MoU will result in academic and research collaboration between students and faculty of both institutions. Founded in the year 1693 under a royal charter, William & Mary is the second oldest institution of higher education in the USA. It is designated as a 'Public Ivy' — one of only eight in the USA. William & Mary Law School was the first to offer professional education in law (1779) in the USA.

Dr Bimal Patel, director, GNLU said, "We are proud to have added oldest Law School in the USA to an otherwise impressive list of GNLU's global partners. It reflects the growing international stature of our institute."

GNLU has now collaborative arrangements with 13 universities or institutions in nine countries across four continents. "We have eight faculty exchanges, more than 40 student exchanges, and participation of more than 100 resource persons from partner institutions at GNLU events," said professor Harsha Rajwanshi, dean, external relations.
