Of the four secretaries from Gujarat in AICC, Irshad Baig Mirza, is believed to be transferred to training department. The remaining three — Prabhaben Taviad, Deepak Babariya and Paresh Dhanani — continue to hold their posts.

Following these changes, the presence of Gujarat representatives among AICC office-bearers has reduced. Ahmed Patel has been retained as political secretary to Sonia Gandhi. While the changes have been confirmed by sources within Congress, the AICC website shows no such reshuffle.

The total strength of AICC office bearers is 54, with single posts for president, vice-president, political secretary and treasurer each, two posts for independent charge, 10 for general secretary, while the remaining seats are for the post of secretary.
