Gujarat High Court goes through recordings of Rajya Sabha polls

The Gujarat High Court, on Thursday, went through the video recordings of the Rajya Sabha poll proceedings in connection with a petition challenging the victory of Congress leader Ahmed Patel on August 8, 2017.

The court also dismissed doubts about the authenticity of the recordings. Returning officer DM Patel informed the court that the actual voting during the Rajya Sabha Election was recorded while the counting of votes was not recorded. Patel who gave a DVD of the voting process in connection with the petition said that all documents associated with the polling were readied on August 9, 2017 and a set of 5 DVDs of the proceedings were given by the information department on August 14, 2017. The court went through the video recordings that showed the four controversial votes of Raghavji Patel, Bholabhai Gohil, Shailesh Parmar and Mitesh Garasiya.
