A day after the general budget board meeting of AMC was wrapped up without any highlight on certain key issues, the Congress on Monday staged a protest against mayor Bijal Patel outside the civic body office in Danapith.
The Congress members were agitated as the mayor allegedly did not allow them to raise their problems. Patel informed that the members had given time, while the Congress workers said there should not be any limit to time while discussing concerns.
"The mayor has curtailed our freedom of speech. If we don't ask questions, then who will? They are accountable to respond to the opposition," said leader of the opposition Dinesh Sharma.
