Gujarat BJP felicitates newly elected village heads

The Gujarat BJP on Wednesday felicitated village heads elected in the recent panchayat polls. The party claimed that over 75% of total village bodies and seats were won by members of the BJP in the polls held on February 4. The party claimed that even in regions where the Congress won in the last election, voters chose the BJP this time.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Gujarat BJP Chief Jitu Vaghani, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy CM Nitin Patel and other senior leaders of the party. During the ceremony, Vaghani said the rural voters stood by the BJP in the panchayat elections, which showed their faith in the party.

"People in rural Gujarat know what the condition of villages in state was before BJP's rule, and that is why they stood by the BJP and the party's ideology," said Vaghani. "The rural voters have voted for the BJP and the party has been ruling in the state continuously for 22 years. The BJP government gives priority to rural people and farmers. The government has launched many schemes that benefitted the farmers and rural Gujarat at large."

CM Vijay Rupani said: "The central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided that the minimum support price of farmer's produces will be given one and a half times more than their production cost. The government has also decided that the income of Indian farmers should be doubled by 2022. Our Gujarat government has always given priority to farmers' issues. The Congress has been spreading myth in Gujarat but they faced great loss in Gujarat polls and would never be able to win the trust of the people in Gujarat."
