Gujarat: 7 cheating cases on last day of board, 1 dummy candidate caught

Seven cases of copying were registered on the last day of the Class 10 board exams in the state while one case of a dummy candidate appearing for the exams was reported. Three cases each were registered in Amreli and Junagadh while two were registered in Banaskantha-Palanpur. Of the two cases registered in Banaskantha one was of a dummy candidate. On the last day the highest number of absence was recorded in Banaskantha-Palanpur followed by Dahod.

Both The places saw 1,408 and 1,133 students remaining absent. In Class 10, against the 95,8140 registered students, 93,7776 students appeared for the Class 10 board exams. It should be noted that since the class 10 board exams began, so far 85 cases of cheating while 12 students were held for carrying mobile phones in examination centres. In all 105 cases of copying, carrying mobile phones and using dummy students were reported during this year's board exams.

Around 18.50 lakh students were expected to appear for the class 10 and 12 board exams with around 925 centres for class 10 and 653 centres across the state for class 12.
