Officers from Sola police station have started an investigation into who made and supplied the hooch.

All the four victims– Ajay, Mahesh, Pravin and their friend – are construction workers and had arrived in Sola village just a few days ago. Police officer JK Bhatt says the four brought the hooch with them from their former place of residence, probably from Kheda, where they belong.

A sample of the illicit country alcohol has been sent to the Forensic Scientific Laboratory for testing.

Additional Director General of Police (Sector 1) KLN Rao said, "The FSL team has been notified and they will look into the matter more closely to determine if the men fell ill because of hooch consumption."
