Female ratio at IIM-A's Post Graduate Programme for Executives programme dips
The 13th batch of PGPX was inaugurated on Thursday by IIM-A director, Errol D'Souza.
Nearly 17% candidates for the Post Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPX) at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad are women this year. The 13th batch of PGPX was inaugurated on Thursday by IIM-A director, Errol D'Souza. A total of 138 students joined the programme with an average age of 32 years and average total work experience of 8.9 years. Interestingly, the average international experience of students is approximately two years.
In terms of diversity, students belonged to 19 industries, 17.39% of them are NRI's and 54.35% of the batch has worked abroad.
Till 2016-17, the PGPX intake was 90 and last year, the institute added one more section to enhance learning experience of participants. Professor Arindam Banerjee, chairperson, PGPX, said, "Academic rigor and mental discipline would determine success in this programme."
There has been a steady increase in terms of increase in number of female students at the PGPX programme. In 2012, the number of females were 6 whereas in 2018, it is 23.
