An Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) bus driver lost control of his bus and rammed it into six vehicles. The freak accident created panic on Ashram Road as the bus went out of control on the busy road.
On Monday morning at 9 am, AMTS bus (GJ1-BV-8617) plying on route No. 82, lost control while it was passing by Bata showroom.
The speeding bus hit six vehicles including one CT 100 motorcycle, a vegetable cart and an auto-rickshaw in the rear. The vegetable cart overturned while the bike's front part was damaged in the mishap.
The accident hampered traffic on Ashram Road for half an hour. Navrangpura police have registered a case against the driver of the bus after receiving a complaint from Piyush Patel, who was riding the bike. Police seized the bus and have parked it near the police station. Incidentally, someone has 'christened' the bus 'Shivaji Vodka Express' - these words are written on the front side of the bus. According to AMTS officials, the bus is run by a private operator and they have no knowledge about these words.
