Of late, newly formed states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been marching ahead of traditional leaders like Gujarat and Maharashtra.

GCCI on Monday made a series of suggestions in this regard. “Instead of about a dozen department, there should be single department to grant all the approvals and a single nodal officer. Concerned departments should be linked to share all the information to reduce the time for clearance. All approvals should be given in a time-bound manner,” said a memorandum submitted by GCCI.

GCCI president Vasa said we should study the best practices of the states that are not leading the chart. It is not difficult for Gujarat to grab number one spot, he added.
