A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped on the campus of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) near Chiloda in Gandhinagar. After receiving the complaint, Chiloda police arrested a CRPF constable on charges of raping a minor.
The accused has been identified as Sanjay Gamai, who stays on the Chiloda campus. According to the case details, 14-year-old Neha (name changed) is a distant relative of a CRPF jawan, who also stays on the campus. Neha works as a maid at his place.
On the night of June 24, Gamai allegedly lured Neha by offering her Rs100 and took her behind the canteen building. There, he allegedly raped her at around 9 pm. He even threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident.
However, her relative informed Neha’s parents who live in a village. Neha’s father approached Chiloda police and lodged a complaint against Gamai for allegedly raping Neha. A medical check-up confirmed rape, following which Chiloda police arrested Gamai on Tuesday.
