Deputy CM Nitin Patel informed the media about the Gujarat assembly's budget session schedule. He said that the agenda had been discussed in a cabinet meeting.

He said, "Dates for the budget session were finalised in today's cabinet meeting after approval by the CM. The budget will be presented on February 19 and it will be vote on account because of Lok Sabha polls. The government will seek the house's approval to pass expenditures for initial four months of fiscal year 2019-20. The full-size budget will be presented after the Lok Sabha polls, in July."

"The government will soon send the warrant to the governor for this session as the governor, as the constitutional head, addresses the house in the beginning of the budget session. The governor would speak about the government's achievements on the session's first day," Patel further added.

The government is likely to table several bills for approval. These bills may be from the revenue department, making changes in revenue codes to ease processes. The home department is also likely to bring a bill related to cyber security.
