AVPS to gift soap to Yogi, aid to riot victims
Its weight has been decided to mark the 125th birth anniversary year of Babasaheb Dr BR Ambedkar.
On July 3, a 40-member delegation of Dr Ambedkar Vechan Pratibandh Samiti (AVPS) will carry a 125 kg to Lucknow to gift it to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.
Its weight has been decided to mark the 125th birth anniversary year of Babasaheb Dr BR Ambedkar.
It comes in the wake of the recent incident in which Yogi had sent soaps to Dalits of Kushinagar in UP to wash their hands before visiting him.
Martin Macwan, founder of the Navsarjan Trust, said, “The AVPS has also collected donations in earthen pots from different parts of Gujarat to give assistance to victims of communal clashes between Dalits and Rajput at Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.”
He added, “Donations of Rs50,000 have been collected from nine places till now. AVPS is expecting a collection of Rs2.5 lakh from 600 villages here before July 3. It would be donated to victims of the riots in Saharanpur.”
