The city remained cloudy on Tuesday with no signs of rain whatsoever. Only a few districts in the state received showers with Valsad recording the highest rainfall. The district received 32 mm of average rainfall. Kaprada in Valsad recorded 82mm of rainfall, which was the highest in the state on Tuesday. In all, 10 districts and 26 talukas received showers on Tuesday.

So far, the state has received 23% of its average rainfall, with Saurashtra getting 37% of the total average rainfall. This was followed by South Gujarat, which received 23% of the rainfall. Interestingly, South Gujarat has received 319mm of rainfall while Saurashtra has recorded 238mm.

As for Ahmedabad, the city has received 28% of its average rainfall. It has so far recorded 218mm of the average 769mm it receives during the season. The lack of rains has also resulted in a rise in temperature with the city recording a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius. Surendranagar was the hottest district recording a maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the met department has predicted another day without rain for the city but the sky will remain cloudy. The department said that an off-shore trough, prevailing from South Gujarat to Kerala coast, is expected to bring light to moderate rain in some districts of the state.
