'Amdavadis,' have ‘traffic axe’ to grind? Reach Town Hall today

None else than the most senior official – Principal Secretary, Home Department, SK Nanda — will hear you in front of officers concerned and will tell you about the actions that you can take to solve your problem. An open house discussion organized by Nanda will be held between 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday at the Town Hall in Ellisbridge, where people’s traffic issues will be resolved by MLAs and Municipal councilors, police inspectors, senior cops and officials from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

Talking to DNA, Nanda said that he wanted to know common men’s views on traffic issues and then think on some solutions. “I want them to be heard, and heard effectively, and so I will hear them in front of the concerned officers so that the solution can be decided promptly,” he said.

The commissioner of police, traffic committees and other agencies have been told by the ministry to get in touch and call prominent people as well as common men with their traffic related problems. “There should be hundreds of complaints which they may have told to many officers, but no one have heard them. But, I will hear them out and take actions immediately too,” Nanda assured.

The same format of open house discussion will be replicated in other districts once it is conducted effectively in Ahmedabad. “In other districts too people from different government agencies as well as the prominent citizens will be called on one platform,” he said.
