Dr Chirag Shah, nodal officer of Air Action Plan, AMC, said, "Air quality is going to remain poor on the next five days, especially the day after Diwali (October 20). We have issued a health advisory for the people and have warned patients suffering from respiratory disorders via SMS. Around 200 doctors have been alerted to remain prepared."

Shah said the Met department has predicted very light to calm wind conditions on October 20. "This means firecracker emissions are going to get accumulated in the air. The highest level of PM10 (Particular Matter) and PM2.5 are expected on October 19-20, between 11 am and 3am. The AQI will hit 302, to 'very poor' category," he said.
