Australians created a ruckus saying that were only informed about the delay until it was already four hours late
More than 100 passengers, some of them foreigners, had a tough time on Wednesday when their Dubai-bound flight, 549 Air Emirates flight, was reportedly cancelled.
The fllight was scheduled to take off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) at 4.30 am.
A group of the passengers, several of them Australians, created a ruckus saying that were only informed about the delay until it was already four hours late.
A passenger, who looked shocked abiout the incident, said, “We were not informed that the flight was cancelled til we created an uproar. We were only provided a hotel accommodation after 9.30 am. The next Air Emirates flight to Dubai is now at 6.30 pm.”
Those from the city who were on their way to Dubai returned home.
When contacted, airport director Manoj Gangal said the flight was ‘delayed’ due to technical reasons.
“We thought that a bird hit might have led to the delay and it would take only a few hours,” The passenger said.
