A 22-year-old married woman alleged that her neighbour harassed her outside her society gate and even threatened to kill after she slapped him.
In a complaint lodged by the victim Rekha (name changed), she stated that on Friday, she had stepped out to buy a birthday gift for his brother. When she got out of the society gate, the accused Bunty aka Anand Panchal (30), her neighbour stood at the gate, and passed comments. He went on even after she asked him to stop. This led to an argument. The accused got angry and grabbed her hand. The victim slapped him for his actions.
Other society members rushed to the spot and saved her. After the incident, Panchal threatened to kill her and left the spot.
The victim got married just two months back and lived in the society with her husband and in-laws.
She lodged a complaint with the Krishnanagar police station against the accused. Cops have filed a case under IPC Section under 354(A), 323,294(KH) and 506(1) against Panchal and search for him is going on.
