A complaint was lodged with the Changodhar police station on Tuesday morning after two people died in a road accident on Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway near Bavla. Nine people were also injured in the pile up that involved three cars. They were rushed to Sola civil hospital for treatment.

The incident took place around 7am, when one of the car drivers, travelling from Ahmedabad to Bavla side, lost control after a tyre burst. The car jumped the divider of the road and rammed into two other passenger cars coming from the opposite direction. Two people died on the spot while 9 others were injured.

The deceased were identified as Kailash Chauhan (50) and Jhanak Bharwad (32). The injured were identified as Chandu Chauhan (54), Pratik Chauhan (28), Kiran Chauhan (24), Vasram Jograna (48), Jasu Jograna (55), Vithal Jograna (35), Laxman Jograna (40), Bhavna Chauhan (45), Kanu Mistry (55). Out of them, seven people are out of danger while two are in critical condition.
