A city boy made it to the list of top 15 rankers in this year's Joint Entrance Examinations, the results of which were announced on Sunday. The exam is the gateway to IITs and top engineering institutes in the country.

Saumya Goyal of Delhi Public School, Gandhinagar, stood at 13 in the All India Rankings. But he wasn't too pleased with his performance. "I am a bit disappointed as I had expected the rank in single digit." Saumya is keen to pursue Computer Science at IIT-Bombay.

His father, a knee-joint surgeon, said sincerity is all that matters. "No one can force someone to study." A throughout scholar, Saumya has bagged multiple awards, including the National Mathematics Olympiad. He had been shortlisted by the government for the International Mathematics Olympiad.

Khushi Kapadia from Vedant International School bagged AIR 106. "Time management and a good amount of sleep helped me ace the exam." While she loves dancing, swimming and badminton, Khushi gave up all to focus on studies. "I would listen to music to relieve stress."
