Ahmedabad: Senior citizen beaten to death with sticks, three arrested

A murder complaint was lodged with the Vadaj police station on Thursday after Nata Bhai Badge (68), a resident of Juna Vadaj was murdered by four men. The incident happened after Badge asked them to stop abusing him. Badge, a retired peon, worked in the Sachivalay. The incident took place on Wednesday night at around 9 pm outside Badge’s house.

According to police, Badge was sitting outside his house, when the four accused Jitu Chauhan, Amit aka Bombaiya, Bhavna Chauhan and Sanjan Chauhan started hurling abuses at him over a past dispute. They even attacked him with sticks.

Badge sustained major injuries on the head and collapsed on the spot. When Badge’s son rushed outside the house, the four fled from the spot. Badge was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

The police arrest Jitu, Amit and Bhavna but Sanjan is still absconding. J. A. Rathwa, inspector of Vadaj police station said, “There was some family dispute. On Wednesday, one of the family members attacked Badge and killed him.”
