Ahmedabad: Rs 5 lakh cash stolen from Activa’s compartment, case registered

A case of theft was lodged with the Sola police station on Monday after Rs 5 lakh cash was stolen from Activa mopped which was parked outside a Pan shop in Thaltej area. 

The incident took place on Monday evening at around 6.30pm right outside a Pan shop located near Gulabtower of Thaltej area. The complaint was lodged by the victim identified as Haresh Thakor,32, a resident of Shayona city located in Ghatlodia area. 

As per the complaint, around three months back Thakor had sold a house to his friend and regarding which he was asking Rs 5 lakh from his friend. Two days back his friend sent him the money through V Patel, an Angadia firm. 

On Monday evening at around 5 pm, Thakor got a call from the Angadia firm saying that his parcel has arrived at the Sola office of the firm and asked him to collect it. By 6 pm, Thakor collected the cash from the Angadia and put it inside the compartment of his Activa and was going on home. 

In between Thakor, stopped at his friend Jigar’s pan shop located at Thaltej to have some Masala pan (chewing tobacco). He parked his vehicle on the road and went to the shop, Within a minute, when he returned to his vehicle, he saw the seat lock was broken and cash parcel was stolen from his vehicle compartment. 

DH Gadhvi, Inspector of Sola police station said, “Regarding the matter, we have started an investigation and have recovered a CCTV footage from the nearby shop. Which revealed two accused were involved in stealing the cash. The CCTV  camera captured a man breaking the lock of Activa, stealing cash.”
