Ahmedabad ranks poor 23rd in Ease of Living index
Ahmedabad also secured 7th rank in institutional pillars — the only city from Gujarat to feature in top 10 of all four pillars
The city has been ranked 23rd in the Ease of Living Index launched by the Centre on Monday.
Additionallly, Surat has ranked 19th, Vadodara 36, Rajkot 38, Gandhinagar 39, Diu 47 and Dahod 70 in the 111-city survey. Ahmedabad also secured 7th rank in institutional pillars — the only city from Gujarat to feature in top 10 of all four pillars.
Speaking to DNA, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra said, “We have to work hard to improve our rankings — making our city liveable also. Our current focus in on traffic and cleanliness, we have seen a major improvement in both. We’ll have to concentrate on the other areas.”
