Summer has arrived and mercury is scaling new height. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this week there is a possibility that the mercury will cross 40 degree Celsius in the city.

The new bulletin by the Met department states that there will be a further rise in the maximum temperature. The bulletin mentioned that there is no large change in the maximum temperature for the next two days, thereafter rise in maximum temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius likely over the region.

On Sunday the maximum temperature in the city was recorded 38 degree Celsius which was a degree above the normal while the minimum the temperature was recorded 24.4 degree Celsius which was four degree above normal.

For Monday the Met department forecast dry weather with clear skies. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 38 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature could be around 24 degree Celsius. Highest maximum temperature was recorded in Mahuva which was 39.6 degree Celsius. Out of 23 IMD stations, 18 stations recorded maximum temperature more than 35 degree.
