A complaint of kidnapping was lodged with the Vejalpur police station after a 16-year-old girl alleged that she was kidnapped by three unidentified persons but managed to escape by jumping off the moving car.
The girl is an 11th standard student living in the Juhapura area of the city.
As per the complaint, on Tuesday evening at around 3.45pm, she had gone to her tuition centre which is located near her house on her two-wheeler. At around 6.45pm when she was returning back to her house, a silver-coloured car blocked her way and she was abducted by three masked men from near Amber tower area.
When she started to scream for help, one of the kidnappers started beating her. After a while when the car slowed down, the girl managed to open the door and jumped out of it, sustaining serious injuries. Meanwhile, the kidnappers fled from the spot and the girl went back to her house and narrated the entire incident to her parents. She was taken to the VS hospital for treatment.
Later the Vejalpur police were informed, who reached the hospital and a complaint was registered against the three accused under POCSO Act. The cops have recovered the CCTV footage from the spot.
While scanning the CCTV footages, the cops came to know that at around 6.45pm after she got out of the tuition centre she had gone with her friends to a food stall and between 8 pm to 8.30pm, she had even gone to drop her friend to her house on her two-wheeler and then returned to her home.
VG Patel, ACP M division, said, “Primary investigation revealed that whatever the girl had narrated in the complaint nothing of such has happened. We have recovered the CCTV footage of the spot from where she was kidnapped, but no such incident has taken place. We suspect that the girl has made up a kidnapping story to get away from her parents scolding. Further investigation will reveal what actually had happened and how she got the injuries.”
