Thieves broke into two shops near Vastrapur lake and vanished with cash and other valuables worth more than Rs7 lakh in the wee hours of Wednesday.
In the first incident, they targeted a medical shop opposite Sanjivani hospital around 4:15am on Wednesday and stole Rs5.14 lakh. Instead of collecting scattered cash, the shoplifters simply pulled out two drawers.
Around the same time, thieves targeted a computer shop at Management Enclave on Mansi–Vastrapur lake road and stole laptops worth Rs1.85 lakh and Rs5,000 cash.
