Agriculture, agro business to reap bumper MoUs at Vibrant Gujarat Summit

There are 431 MoUs to be signed and an approximated volume of these MoUs tends will be more than Rs 10,000 crore

The Gujarat government is all set to sign big-ticket MoUs in agriculture and agro-business sector this Vibrant Gujarat Summit (VGS). There are 431 MoUs to be signed and an approximated volume of these MoUs tends will be more than Rs 10,000 crore. There are 10 MoUs from foreign investors and 28 MoUs of strategic partnership too.

“The United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based EMAAR group alone will sign an MoU of Rs3000 crore with Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation in the sector of Mega food park, procurement, contract farming, chain of processing and exports to the UAE,” sources of agriculture department said.

“The Netherlands government is going to sign an MoU with Gujarat government for farming in salinised and non-arable areas. The same stakeholders will sign MoUs in protective cultivation in horticulture, and other, ” the source said.

France is going to sign MoUs in farm inputs and equipment manufacturers, Israel’s agriculture ministry will sign MoUs in sector of research on plants, animal science, plant protection, soil and environment science, food science and agricultural engineering. Astrakhan state university, of Russia, will sign MoUs with Agricultural Univesity, Gujarat University and Pandit Dindayal Petroleum University in the agricultural research and sciences.

Gujarat and India based agro-business units are also going to sign big ticket MoUs in Agro and food park, grading of produces, vacuum freezing, training, agri machinery, honey process, herbal producs, packaging, and technologies.

Netherlands eyes partnership in goods, logistics 

A 54-member delegation from the Netherlands wi-ll seek partnerships in sectors such as food, agriculture, horticulture, sm-art cities, renewable energy, logistics and maritime sector, a top official said here on Thursday. 

The delegation will be led by Menno Snel, Minister of Finance for Taxation and Customs, said Amlan Bora, Trade and Investment Commissioner of Holland in Ahmedabad.
