An industrial technician who killed two people, whom he held responsible for his termination from job, was nabbed by the Amraiwadi police on Tuesday. The killer, identified as Raju Barapatre, a resident of Purshottamnagar in Odhav, was nabbed from Bapunagar. Cops also recovered a bag with some blood-soaked clothes in it.
Raju, who used to work as a technician at Arun Shuttle Factory located in the Sarangpur Mill compound, was laid off owing to his irregularity and inconsistent work. And as a consequence of which, two junior technicians - Dilip Pawar (45) and Gopal Sharma (50) - were promoted to Raju's position. This news did not go down well with Raju, who decided to take revenge from the duo. With this in mind, Raju attacked Dilip, a resident of Gomtipur and Gopal, an Amraiwadi resident outside the factory premises early on Monday morning, police sources said.
According to the sources, Raju assaulted them with a sharp weapon inflicting six grievous wounds on Dilip and one on Sharma sometime between 8.30am and 9am. Bystanders, who witnessed the assault, called the 108 emergency services, but the two succumbed to their wounds before they could be taken to hospital. Raju, however, had fled the spot immediately after the attack.
