6 nabbed for ruckus at Danny’s café

After two weeks of investigation, Vastrapur police on Wednesday finally nabbed six youngsters who created ruckus at a coffee bar on SG Highway. The youngsters wanted to settle a score after being ill treated by the bar’s attendants.  

According to police, almost every day all six youngsters used to visit Danny’s café, the place where they created trouble on the night of August 30.

Among the arrested, Nehru Gurjar, 26, Jayesh Patadia, 20, Manish Rajput, 23, Vikram Brahmbhatt, 24, Kaushal Anasari, 22, are all residents of Bapunagar. Only Dinesh Solanki, 25, is from Saraspur.

Two days before the night they vandalized Danny bar, its attendants had behaved badly with them, which had prompted them to seek revenge. “They came on their bikes with baseball bats and sat near the bar during the night. They wanted to frighten other customers, so they targeted an I-20 car and broke window panes and windscreens before vanishing from the spot.

They thought that it would dent business at Danny’s, as customers would not prefer to frequent the spot after such an incident,” said MR Sharma, senior police inspector of Vastrapur.

During his investigation, Sharma also learned that the main kingpin is Gurjar, who left his studies after class X and now runs a dairy parlour after the death of his father. Among the other accused, two of them are college students.
