Gujarat police officials can now use the website which was launched exclusively for tracing missing children.

The website - www.trackthemissingchild.gov.in – has been launched across the country and it will keep all police stations of the country, including those in Gujarat, connected with each other.

This website is dedicated to the cause of tracking missing children, and holds the database of missing or recovered children. Anyone can see the photos of missing children on the website and contact the concerned police official in case they spot them.

Till now, 136 policemen from the city, including officials from the Prevention of Crime Branch and Local Crime Branch, have been given training by CID officials to operate the website, including uploading the photos and other information of missing children. In coming days, one cop from each police station will be trained in using the website. As soon as a complaint of missing children is received, the cop will upload the photos on the website, which can be accessed by other policemen as well as common people across the country. Apart from uploading, cops can check if a child is found/recovered in other state from the ‘Recovered children’ section in the website.
