Amidst much fanfare, 307 students of DA-IICT were conferred with degrees yesterday during their convocation ceremony. Though there were many who remained absent from the ceremony owing to further studies or job pressures.

Of the 307 students, three students, namely Heta Thakkar of MSc (IT) 2008, K Binoy of MSc (ICT-ARD) 2008 and Kartik Nagar of BTech (ICT) 2006 received the president's gold medal.

In his speech, SC Sahasrabuddhe, director of DA-IICT spoke about placements and students fairing well in the same. He said that, "With the improving economy, the placements so far have been excellent. Till now, the maximum salary offered is Rs8.5 lakh per annum and while the minimum is Rs3.9 lakh per annum."

"We have received an assistance of Rs1.5 crore from DIT of Government of India to set-up an incubation centre at DA-IICT, so as to help budding engineering entrepreneurs passing out from the institute in the future. The amount was received as part of funds which they receive for externally sponsored projects," Sahasrabuddhe also mentioned.

More over, DA-IICT's Continuing Education Program continues to march ahead with the Indian Air Force as their significant partner.
