Former Jamia VC Mohammad Amin dead

Mohammad Amin, a former vice chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia and who taught history at St. Stephens College for over four decades, died on Saturday, a university official confrimed. He was 86.

His family consisted of wife Khursheed Amin, son Shahid Amin and daughter Ghazala Amin.

Amin was a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, the country's third highest civilian award.

His last rites will be performed on Sunday.
