Ujjwaladevi Patil, chairperson of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) said, “Parents and students need not get confused as the process will be the same as that of this year. The five best scores out of the six subjects in the SSC curriculum will be considered for a student’s score, which will be called the ‘best-five score’ and will be applicable for admission to junior colleges.”

“We are glad that the SC has agreed with our point of not letting ICSE students use their ‘Group III’ subject scores which include subjects like pottery, technical design, home sciences etc. and are based on internal school markings,” added Patil.

Rajendra Darda, school education minister of the state government, said, “We are happy with the Supreme Court order. This will give a fair chance to all the students.” Authorities are optimistic that the admission process next year will run smoothly.
