Keeping Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of Digital India in mind, Birla Edutech in partnership with Computer Business Management (CBM) and Designmate launched a 3D interactive virtual classroom and e-learning library in Gopi Birla Memorial School on Wednesday.

“Our goal is to provide quality education all over India as well as abroad. I want Birla Edutech to spread quality education even to those who cannot afford it,” said Nirvaan Birla, Head of Business Development, Birla Edutech.

The module is simple and interactive. Divided into three sections — video, simulation, and interaction — it consists of chapters on physics, chemistry, biology, and math.

The e-library is divided into three categories, depending on the age groups — beginning readers, young readers, and teen readers.

It contains over 1,000 e-books covering popular classics, animated value-based stories, audio-visual books, encyclopedias, e-magazines, e-newspapers, and curriculum-based topics. It is in the form of audio-visuals and multimedia stored in a digital format. A website link will be shared with the students so that they can access the data from home as well.

Sujal Patel, a sixth-grader sitting in the first row enjoyed the module.

“I really liked the module. It was quite easy to understand and interactive,” said Patel.

Principal Deepa Shetty believes that since kids are already exposed (sometimes, overexposed) to gadgets, this technology-based module will help them learn.

“We’re integrating traditional teaching with technology and convincing children that there’s more to online discovery than WhatsApp, Facebook or Twitter,” said Shetty.

The 3D studio has already been demonstrated to the teachers. Four students each from Classses 6, 7 and 8 were present for the launch.
