Student entrepreneur competitionMore than 30 students from colleges across the city participated in the Mumbai leg of Tata First Dot, a platform for student entrepreneurs to access more knowledge, networks, resources and recognition for their start ups. At the end of the competition which will take place in 20 cities across India, the winning start-ups based on judges and people's choice will receive professional mentoring from various entrepreneurs, angel investors, mentors, experts and other student start-ups.

Creative careers seminarPearl Academy organised the Creative Career Conclave on October 17 in Mumbai. More than 200 students and parents participated in the conclave where fashion, film, art and design professionals shared information about different new age and creative careers. The objective of the session was to provide students with knowledge, perspective and the required momentum with regards to different creative careers.

UK scholarshipsThe GREAT Britain Scholarships – India 2015 were launched at a FICCI conference in New Delhi. Around 400 scholarships were announced this year with a combined worth of almost Rs150 million in order to help students pursue courses in various areas including engineering, law, business, design, biosciences across 57 institutions in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Literature festivalLitomania 2014, a literary fest involving more than 4000 literati consisted of classes, workshops and panel discussions by prominent authors and industry experts. The festival organized by the Think WhyNot group included the 'Gift a book Art challenge' which involved attendees donating their old novels to form a crowd sourced installation. It gave a chance to readers to interact and discover what motivates authors, writers and other creative personalities.Business competitionHenkel has opened registrations for their eight Innovation Challenge. Students across the world from all disciplines can participate in this completion and are expected to submit ideas for sustainable products and technologies. A team of two students must indentify market trends and challenges in the Adhesive Technologies, Beauty Care or Laundry and Home Care sector.
