Move over horses, this groom had a even more unusual ride on his wedding! Shaikh Mohammad ditched the traditional ghodi and arrived sitting atop a caged lion for wedding in Pakistan. In a news video, the groom said that he was very thankful to his father who fulfilled his wish of having such an extravagant wedding and jaw dropping entrance.
However, the public display of wealth was criticised in the comments on the video, from the groom who was covered in gold, the wedding that hosted over 15,000 guests and the dowry of PKR 5 crore (Pakistan Rupees) which was displayed for all to see.
But the highly publicised wedding ended up with the family getting slapped with an informal notice from Pakistan's tax department the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as per a report by Dunya News. The FBR has sought the details of the families’ assets and tax payments, if the family fails to reply by March 24, the department will take serious action against them.
