Tuesday, 11 March 2014 - 3:22pm IST | Place: | Agency: DNA Webdesk

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW), a gathering of tech industry experts, and artists, former US security contractor Edward Snowden spoke via video link from Russia.

Speaking from an undisclosed location, with the US constitution in the back drop, Snowden stated, "Our Constitution was violated on a massive scale." He further elaborated on the actions of the US agency accusing them of breaching upon the rights of many.

Snowden, who worked for the NSA, had earlier last year leaked startling revelations about the illegal spying operations of the US security agency. Since then he has escaped and successfully sought asylum in Russia, from where he addressed the conference.
